A clip is a short video or audio recording that you can record and save directly to activities in Workleap Onboarding. Using clips is a surefire way to delight new hires and make the onboarding a rich and enjoyable experience.

You can also ask a teammate to record a clip for an activity. To learn how see our article Request clips from teammates for more information.

Keep in mind that clips are meant to be short. If you have something longer, add it as a resource instead!

How to record a clip in an activity

From the activity page, go to the Add to the activity options and select Clip.

It may be useful to organize your thoughts beforehand in the private speaker notes section. Then, when you’re ready, hit record! You’ll get a three-second warning before the recording starts.

You can share your computer screen by clicking the share icon at the bottom and selecting which screen you want to share.

When you’re done sharing your screen, click the camera icon to return to your normal camera.

If you’ve finished your recording, click the stop button.

Once you’re done recording, your clip will automatically play for you to review. If you’re not happy with the recording, select Retake to start again. When you’re ready to add a clip to the activity, select Submit.

How to set up your camera or microphone

When you want to record a clip for the first time on a browser, a popup will open to record a clip. Click the Give access button.

Your browser will ask if Workleap Onboarding (onboarding.workleap.com) has permission to connect to your camera and microphone, click Allow.

You should be able to either see yourself on the camera. If it doesn’t seem like the camera or microphone is working, click the gear icon in the bottom right.

Select either Camera or Microphone to make sure Workleap Onboarding is connecting to the right hardware and try again.
